First: what is the background? A true cyclorama gives you a clean, infinite frame; a flat wall with a seam gives you a line you will fight in post. Second: what lighting comes with the rental? Bare heads are not a studio; modifiers are. Ask for the modifier list, not the head count.
Third: what are the hours, and is the rate locked to the clock? A fashion shoot rarely finishes on the booked hour. A studio that charges by the half-hour overage will cost you more than a flat full-day rate. Fourth: where is it, and can a crew and a van reach it without losing an hour in traffic? A cheap studio an hour from central Los Angeles is not cheap.
